This week at BRBC:
September 19, 2021

10:30 AM  -  Adult Sunday school:  We are looking at the theme of the covenants in the Bible.  What are these and what is the nature and purpose of biblical covenants?

Children's Sunday School will also be held this Sunday at the same time.

11:30 AM  -  Worship Service:   This Sunday we will continue preaching our way through the Sermon on the Mount.  We will be looking at Matthew 7:21-23.

This week our Lord declares that "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven.'"  There are millions and millions of "professed Christians" who will never enter into Heaven, because they never submitted to the Word of God.  They offered Him lip service, but they stiffened their necks against His authoritative rule over them.  Obedience to the Lord is not optional!  Why do you call Him Lord, and do not do what He commands.

FURTHER THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:

The church is very busy being busy, but are they doing the works of the Lord? Most are doing whatever they please; that which is right in their own eyes. They refuse to submit to the Lord as Master of their lives.  They hold fast to their sinful rebellious and autonomous manner of living while professing to be living for Him.  Sadly, those will be turned away and denied entrance into Heaven by the Lord Himself.

Apart from the true church, the body of Christ, you cannot be right with God.  How can you love the Head and neglect His body?

How sweet and refreshing is the inspired, immutable, infallible, inerrant Word of God in this world that is being "tossed to and fro by the waves  and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes."

Apart from the true church, the body of Christ, you cannot be right with God.  How can you love His head and neglect His body?

Come and join us this Sunday!

Hope to see you then,

Pastor Kevin James
